 OUR

 STORY

Twisted Cat was born in the basement of Tom and Alison back in 2016. After months of sometimes-frustrating trial and error (in which nearly every error in the book was made!), they tested beers repeatedly with friends and family. They received enough positive feedback that they finally fully launched an IPA called "The Duke" in Luxembourg city center on 22 June 2018, much to the public's shock and appreciation. Seeing that they had a promising product, Tom and Alison began assembling their close team of beer-loving experts and advocates.

The Covid-19 pandemic threw the team's business plan for a spin! Early 2020 was for large-scale brewing and selling kegs only to local hospitality venues... and then the world stopped in March, leaving them with 3,000+ liters of hoppy Original Pale Ale chilling in fermenters. Needing to make a quick decision (and unable to drink all 3,000 liters on their own), the team chose to can their beer and enter the retail market amidst the craziness of the pandemic.

As the world reopened, so did Twisted Cat's possibilites for growth and recognition. Nowadays our team is stronger than ever, we are present all throughout the Grand Duchy and beyond its borders, and we can proudly boast an international prize and the opening of our long-awaited brewery and gastropub in Dudelange.

Why "Twisted Cat", you may ask? Tom and Alison's beloved fur daughter Nonie was always intrigued by their hours-long brewing process downstairs, conveniently right next to her food bowl. As she spent long days in the basement with them, her curiosity inevitably got the best of her and she greedily lapped up drops of the beer-in-progress. Joking that "if she keeps this up, she'll be a drunk and twisted cat!", Tom and Alison also found their beer's name - especially because cats' 9 lives parallel the 9 steps of the brewing process. Plus, the word "twisted" can mean both "tipsy" and "enigmatic" - much like cats themselves!
